Steps To Finding Your True Self

Do you know who you truly are? Do you know what you truly want? This is something you have to ask yourself. Here is a list of steps to helping you find your true self.
1. Create your own life timeline.
Take a step back and ask yourself, How do you see yourself living in the next 10 years. I feel like social media has put out a false reality of life and people thing they want a certain lifestyle but really that’s not what they want at all. Map out your life and ask yourself what do you want to be. What do you want to accomplish? How will you get this accomplished? These are very important questions to ask yourself.
2. Realize who you are, not who you want to be.
Really sit and think...What do you like? What do you don’t like? Even look at your past relationships and friendships. What did you take from it? What did you learn about yourself from it? This will help you realize who you are.
3. Make sense of your past.
This step for me made me understand who I really am. Why I react the way I do. Why I respond to certain situations the way I do. Think about yours and understand it.
4. Let go of the need to be loved by everyone.
Everyone is not going to like you and that’s okay. And don’t ever change who you are to be like able. You have to be you. People will respect you more if you are true to yourself than a yes man who wants to be liked and accepted by everyone. You’re also going to feel better about yourself knowing that you walked away from certain situations being your true self.
